Eight platforms: what each one does, what it really costs once every fee
is counted, and where it stops.
The short answer
Zakeke is the only platform on this page that does all five: visual customization,
real-time 3D configuration, AR, virtual try-on and print-ready production files. One
subscription, 18 commerce platforms, from EUR 59 a month, 14-day trial, no sales call.
The seven alternatives each do one part of that well, and for some businesses one of them is
the better buy. We say which, and when, in
when Zakeke is not the right choice.
We make Zakeke, so read this knowing that. Every price and rating below comes from
the vendor's own page or a public review platform, and is linked. Our own limits are on this page
too.
What you are actually choosing between
Most comparison lists mix three different kinds of product into one ranking, which is why they
are hard to use. These are the three categories, and almost every tool sits in exactly one.
Category 1
Print-on-demand personalizers
Customily, Teeinblue, Fancy Product Designer, FastEditor. A design or an upload in, a
print-ready file out. Excellent at that one job, mostly cheap to start, and they all stop
where print stops: no 3D, no AR, no virtual try-on.
Category 2
Storefront configurators
Kickflip. A clean option builder with conditional logic and dynamic pricing on a handful of
platforms. Fast to launch, deliberately narrow.
Category 3
Enterprise 3D and CPQ
Threekit, Expivi. Configuration tied to ERP, PIM and quoting, sold as a project. Powerful,
quote-only, and out of reach below a certain size.
Inside the first category, FastEditor is the API-first one: the same job, sold as
infrastructure that plugs in behind a storefront you already have and priced per production file
instead of per sale. And Zakeke is the only platform here that spans all three categories in a
single subscription, which is both its main argument and the reason it is more to learn than a
single-purpose tool.

ZakekeAll five in one
Brands that need customization, 3D configuration, AR, virtual try-on and print-ready files together, on more than one channel
18, including Shopify, WooCommerce, Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce, PrestaShop, Wix, Salesforce, Shopware, Etsy, Amazon, plus API and Zapier
EUR 59 per month, 14-day trial, no credit card
A 1.9% fee per custom sale on Starter, a 10-product cap on the entry plan, and more to learn than a single-purpose app
Customily
Print-on-demand sellers who want live previews and automatic print files
Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Amazon, Walmart, Magento, Shoplazza, plus 20+ POD providers
USD 49 per month per platform, plus USD 1 to 0.10 per item, 9-day trial
No 3D configuration, no AR, no virtual try-on. Priced per platform, so each extra channel is another subscription
Kickflip
Shopify and DTC brands who want one configurator live this month
Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, custom stack
USD 59 per month plus 1.95% to 0% per custom sale, 14-day trial
Photoreal 2D rendering, not real-time 3D. No AR, no virtual try-on, no web-to-print output. Three platforms
Threekit
Enterprise manufacturers of complex products: doors, windows, furniture, heavy equipment
This is the table that decides most of these comparisons, and it is the one nobody publishes,
because for seven of the eight platforms here it is mostly empty.

Compiled from each vendor's own feature and integration pages. "No" means the capability is not offered or not documented as a product feature,
not that it is impossible to build. Kickflip describes its previews as photorealistic; they are
high-quality 2D rendering rather than real-time 3D. Threekit's current positioning centres on AI
quoting and CPQ rather than the AR and virtual photography it once led with.
What each one really costs
The most common criticism of Zakeke, and the one every competitor's comparison page repeats, is
that the bill has more than one layer. It is true. It is also true of almost every tool on this
list, and that is the part the other pages leave out. Here is every layer, for all eight.

ones. At 300 custom orders a month averaging EUR 40, Zakeke Starter costs about EUR 59 plus
EUR 228 in fees; Customily on one platform costs about USD 49 plus USD 175 in item fees; FastEditor
Connect costs about EUR 95 plus EUR 1,200 in file fees. Change the average order value and the
ranking changes with it.
When Zakeke is not the right choice
Every comparison page written by a vendor claims to win every row. This one does not, because
the honest version is more useful and because you will find out anyway.
Choose something else if
Every case below is the same case:
you need less than we built. Narrower tools cost less because they do less.
You sell print-on-demand and nothing else, now or later. Customily and Teeinblue
cover that one job well and start lower. You would be paying us for four things you would
never switch on.
One product family, one channel, a fixed budget. There are cheaper tools with
fewer features, and they will do exactly what you need today. Just be sure that what you
need is not going to change.
You are not planning to grow. If your catalogue, your channels and your options
will stay as they are, a lighter tool is enough. Scalability is the thing you pay us for,
and if you do not need it, do not buy it.
Choose Zakeke if
You sell on more than one platform or marketplace. One subscription covers 18 of
them instead of one bill per channel.
You need two or more of: customizer, 3D, AR, try-on, print files. Nobody else on
this page bundles them, and buying them separately costs more and fits together worse.
You want to be live quickly, without a project. Published prices, a 14-day
trial, no credit card, no discovery call, no code: you connect your catalogue and go.
Your customised orders go to production. PDF, PNG, SVG and DXF for DTG,
sublimation, engraving and screen printing.
You expect to grow past the self-serve tier. Enterprise is the same platform with
negotiated rates, not a migration.
Each alternative in detail
One card each: what it is good at, where it stops, and what it costs. Ratings and figures come from each vendor's own page and from public review platforms.
Customily
4.0 on G2, 16 reviewsFrom USD 49 / month per platform~25,000 stores
Print-on-demand personalizer for Shopify, Etsy, Amazon, WooCommerce and five more, with 20+ POD integrations.
StrengthOne of the two best print-on-demand personalizers there is. Live previews, AI art effects, specialised generators for maps, star charts and crosswords, automatic print files. If print is your whole business, this is a genuinely excellent product.
Where it stopsPer-platform pricing punishes multi-channel sellers: Shopify plus Etsy plus WooCommerce is three subscriptions before a single item fee. And the moment your catalogue includes something that needs to be rotated, configured or seen in a room, the product stops.
4.6 on G2, 121 reviewsFrom USD 59 / month plus up to 1.95%~6,500 stores
Storefront configurator for Shopify, WooCommerce and Wix, with conditional logic and dynamic pricing.
StrengthReviewers repeatedly call it the most intuitive configurator on Shopify, and they are right. Conditional logic, dynamic pricing tied to options, clean drag-and-drop build. If your product is a shoe with six choices, you will be live in days.
Where it stopsIt markets photorealistic visualisation, and that is high-quality 2D rendering rather than real-time 3D. No AR, no virtual try-on, no web-to-print output, three platforms. It also charges a percentage per sale, so the pricing criticism aimed at us applies here too.
Enterprise 3D configuration and CPQ for complex manufactured products. Around 150 manufacturers deployed and 1,000+ enterprise projects delivered.
StrengthBuilt by CPQ veterans from Oracle CPQ and Salesforce CPQ, and it shows. Deep integration with Salesforce, Oracle, Infor, ERP, PIM and DAM, with customer results like a 95% increase in web leads at Andersen Windows and four times faster quoting at Sloan. For doors, windows, heavy equipment and complex B2B catalogues it is a different weight class.
Where it stopsThere is no way in below enterprise: no published price, no trial, and a deployment measured in quarters. Note also that Threekit's current positioning is an AI quoting agent for CPQ, not the visualisation suite it was known for, so check that what you are buying is still what you came for.
No published priceNo trialCrocs, Ralph Lauren, L'Oréal
Headless, API-first configurator with Visual CPQ and Design to Print. Claims +30% conversion and +40% average order value.
StrengthA headless, API-first configurator with real Visual CPQ and Design to Print in the same platform, integrated with SAP, Salesforce and Sana Commerce. For a manufacturer whose configuration rules have to survive the trip to the factory, it is a strong fit.
Where it stopsNo published price and no trial, so evaluation starts with a sales conversation. Virtual try-on is not a core module, and 3D model production is usually a separate line item.
Print-on-demand personalizer for Shopify and Etsy, with 30+ POD partners and unlimited stores on one subscription.
StrengthThe deepest personalisation feature set in print-on-demand: dynamic cliparts, custom maps, moon phases, song selection, PSD import, bulk editing. Unlimited stores on one subscription, which is a real advantage over Customily.
Where it stopsEverything outside Shopify and Etsy runs through a separate product. No 3D, no AR, no try-on, no configuration logic. It is a specialist, and it does not pretend otherwise.
Fancy Product Designer
USD 99 once20,000+ customers
A WooCommerce and WordPress plugin with a separate Shopify app. One licence per domain, no monthly bill.
StrengthNo monthly bill, no transaction fee, no product cap. Multiple views per product, pricing rules by layer and material, PDF, JPEG and PNG export. For a single site with a stable catalogue the total cost over three years is hard to beat.
Where it stopsYou are buying a plugin, so hosting, performance, updates and conflicts with your theme are yours. One licence per domain. No 3D, no AR, no try-on, no multi-channel, and no vendor on call when something breaks mid-campaign.
From EUR 95 / month plus EUR 4 per fileNo trial150+ connected suppliers
API-first artwork automation that plugs in behind an existing storefront. Around 564,000 ready product configurations.
StrengthThe cleanest answer to one specific problem: turning a customer upload into a vectorised, spec-checked, production-ready file per decoration method, delivered to your callback. Zero commission on order value, no caps, and nothing charged for abandoned designs or previews. For promotional products resellers it fits where a full platform would not.
Where it stopsIt is infrastructure, not a storefront experience: you still need something in front of it. No 3D configuration, no AR, no virtual try-on, no trial, and the per-file cost adds up fast at volume, EUR 4 per file on the entry plan against a percentage elsewhere.
What reviewers actually say, including about us
Ratings on G2, so the four numbers are measured the same way
and can actually be compared. These are all good products with satisfied customers, and a
star rating will not decide this for you. The recurring complaints will.
4.7ZakekeG2, 78 reviews
4.6KickflipG2, 121 reviews
4.4ThreekitG2, 62 reviews
4.0CustomilyG2, 16 reviews
All four come from G2, so they are measured the same way and can
actually be compared. Expivi, Teeinblue, Fancy Product Designer and FastEditor have too few
reviews there to rank fairly.
The three complaints our own customers make
They are in our public reviews, so there is no point hiding them here.
1
The fee sits on top of the subscription
1.9% per custom sale on Starter, down to 1.5% on Scale. It is a deliberate trade: it is what
keeps the entry price at EUR 59 a month instead of an enterprise contract. At high volume, ask
us for a flat rate.
2
Mobile used to slow down on products with many variants
This one is fixed: it was a real complaint in older reviews and it was addressed in the
recent releases. Do not take our word for it. Load your heaviest product on a phone during the
14-day trial and check for yourself.
3
More to learn than a single-purpose app
Also fair: five tools in one subscription means five things to understand. If you only
ever need one of them, a specialist will be simpler, and we say so above. Just check that it
stays simple. Those tools are simpler because they do less, and the wall arrives the day you
need a pricing rule they do not support, a second sales channel, or a product that has to be
seen in 3D.
Frequently asked questions
What are the best Zakeke alternatives?
It depends which of three problems you are solving. For print-on-demand personalisation on
Shopify and Etsy, Customily and Teeinblue are the closest alternatives, both from USD 49 per
month. For a simple storefront configurator, Kickflip from USD 59 per month. For enterprise 3D
and CPQ, Threekit and Expivi, both quote-only with no free trial. For one WooCommerce site,
Fancy Product Designer at USD 99 once. For artwork automation behind an existing storefront,
FastEditor from EUR 95 per month. Zakeke starts at EUR 59 per month and is the only one of the
eight that covers customization, 3D configuration, AR, virtual try-on and print-ready output
in a single subscription.
Who are Zakeke's main competitors?
Zakeke competes with three groups that rarely compete with each other. Print-on-demand
personalizers: Customily, Teeinblue, Fancy Product Designer, and FastEditor, which does the
same job API-first for promotional products. Storefront configurators: Kickflip. Enterprise
3D and CPQ platforms: Threekit, Expivi. No competitor overlaps with Zakeke's full scope,
which is why the right comparison depends on which single problem you are actually solving,
or whether you have more than one.
Zakeke vs Kickflip: what do the reviews suggest?
They are reviewed for different jobs. Kickflip rates 4.6 on G2 and is consistently
described as the most intuitive configurator on Shopify, fast to set up for products with a
handful of options. Zakeke rates 4.7 on G2 across 78 reviews, just ahead of Kickflip, and is
described as broader and correspondingly more to learn: customization, 3D, AR, virtual try-on
and print-ready output across 18 platforms. If your product has a few options and one sales
channel, the simpler tool is the better tool. If you need production files, AR, try-on or more
than three platforms, Kickflip does not cover them. Both publish prices, both charge a
percentage per custom sale, and both offer a 14-day trial, so the cheapest way to settle it is
to try both on your own catalogue.
Is Zakeke expensive compared with the alternatives?
At the entry level Zakeke costs EUR 59 per month against USD 49 for Customily and Teeinblue
and USD 59 for Kickflip, so the four are within a few euros of each other. The difference is
what is included: Zakeke's plans contain the customizer, the 3D configurator, the 3D asset hub,
the AR viewer and virtual try-on in the same subscription, where the others are single-purpose.
Zakeke charges 1.9% per custom sale on Starter, falling to 1.5% on Scale, and caps published
products at 10, 50 and 100 by plan. Whether that is expensive depends on your average order
value: a percentage fee beats a per-item fee on low-value orders and loses on high-value ones.
Run your own numbers.
Does Zakeke have a free plan?
Not a permanent one. Every paid plan includes a 14-day free trial with no credit card
required, and the Shopify app offers a free plan for development stores so you can build and
test before going live. Paid plans start at EUR 59 per month for Starter.
